Treating China’s Internet Addicts


In 2008, China became the first nation to declare Internet addiction a clinical disorder. Recently, the Spanish photographer Fernando Moleres spent three days documenting patients at an Internet-addiction treatment center outside of Beijing.
Residents are required to spend a minimum of three months at the center, and treatment consists of exercise drills, therapy sessions, reading, and games. Moleres told me that, above everything, the center seeks to promote the socialization of its residents, to counter the sense of isolation associated with this type of condition. What struck him most, he said, was how readily patients seem to adapt to life at the center.

PARAS KHADKA IN MCC T20 TEAM


MCC is set to bolster its links with Nepalese cricket this year, starting with national team captain Paras Khadka’s selection for the Club in the Emirates T20 tournament this March.



Khadka will be part of the MCC squad for the competition, which takes place in Dubai on Friday 20 March and also features Lancashire, Yorkshire and Sussex.

The 27-year-old has captained his country since 2009, leading them through a number of ICC World Cricket League Divisions and eventually to last year’s ICC World Twenty20 competition in Bangladesh. In June 2014, Nepal were granted T20 International status by the ICC.



Paras Khadka said: "It’s a great privilege to be selected to play for MCC. This is a fantastic platform to showcase Nepal cricket and I’m really looking forward to it.

Hopefully he can make the best of this opportunity to promote cricket in Nepal.
